The word “confused” means that a person whose thoughts are disordered and scattered, not knowing what to do. As in humans, the businesses, also, become stunned and confused when they pass the first three stages and experience the inabilityto #manage the #chaos and disorder arose from the #growth in fourth stage. The business, now, in such a situation, that neither the #founder nor the managers can’t extricate the #business from it by their words and acts. The business in its sick and weak condition needs physical and spiritual treatment. This confused condition does not only affect business #owners and employees, but also the customers and third parts getting services from the business.
Now, the intelligence and authority of the business are not sufficient to extricate the business.

In these stage, #businessmanagement are generally transferred to the second generation. Now founder’s children manage the business. Things are more complicated anymore. If founder has more than one child, there can be also disagreement between the siblings. It is necessary to arrange the positions and responsibilities of siblings, to ensure the harmony in decision making, to execute the operations and investments of the business and to have to come through the difficulties of in-family communication.
Business owners and management are trapped in this chaos, and they struggle with little issues rather than to find a solution for the big problem.
In this stage managers are like fishes out of water. Being in this situation, it is the right time to decide for business to institutionalize and mature. Because humans rarely make decision unless they are under intensive pressure. In order business get out of this situation and to proceed on its way by getting stronger, all stakeholders should agree on #institutionalization. Up on decision they should act fast and with discipline to do the right thing.
