Management Level and Title Optimization

At the beginning of our work, we should review macro and department-based organization plans of the business. We should revise or restructure the existing organization structure in accordance with #institutionalization targets, #business structure, work flow, rivals, sector, realities and technology of present-day. It would be beneficial to create an organization plan from scratch according to the needs.

In general, positions and titles are not emphasized in confused companies. Any title might be granted to anyone previously, but these job definitions are often empty.


It is possible to discover a spaghetti diagram structure where including managers having no employee, chiefs with no job definition, executives who are not aware what their task is, complex, inter-penetrating connections and superior-subordinate relationships, having undefinable, uneducated and uncertified leaders, and where all connections arriving to business owner.

In such a case, establishing a new organization structure will be more difficult: "You can see the management levels and their titles in existing organization diagram and the newly established simpler title and level structure created while studying on institutionalization of a business I was assigned, in Figure-5. With this example, the complexity in organization structure of confused companies in question would be understood better. While existing management organization diagram having 9 levels and titles, this figure is reduced to 4 in new structure."


While creating a new institutional and professional organization draft, a few alternatives can be considered.

Here, in the first stage, starting with an ideal organization diagram would be difficult in terms of progress. Sometimes it may be easier to progress gradually towards to ideal #structure at the end. You can achieve the ideal structure in 1, 3 or 5 years according to business' realities and rate of your progress. The important is to know what the ideal is, but to advance step-by-step with organization structures in accordance with resources and terms on hand. You, business owners and employees should know that the establishes organization is not stable, and will be revised according to the needs and progress rate. From small units to whole body, from acceptable to perfect, the #organization diagram should be like a living creature.
